Ms. Butler Bailey has been practicing criminal law in State and Federal Court for the past ten years.  She has represented clients in all types of criminal cases from minor traffic offenses and misdemeanors to major felonies and Homicides.  She also represents clients in criminal appeals.  Her sole focus is criminal litigation.

As a law student, she worked at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Lewiston District Attorney’s Office, the Senate President’s Office and the American Civil Liberties Union of Maine. She was a member of Maine Law’s Moot Court Board and the Trial Team and was co-chairwoman of the American Constitutional Society. She was also awarded the Kenneth Clegg Memorial Writing Award. She graduated Cum Laude from Maine Law in 2006.

Prior joining Strike, Gonzales & Butler Bailey, Ms. Butler Bailey worked for five years as an associate at Hallett Whipple and before that she managed her own law practice. In both positions she focused on criminal defense, family law and Guardian ad litem work.  Ms. Butler Bailey is very active in the legal community.   She is a member of the Maine Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers, Maine Guardian ad litem Institute and the Edward Gignoux Inns of Court. She is a former chair of the South Portland Planning Board.  Ms. Butler Bailey is also on the Board of Directors for the ACLU of Maine.
